Need an appetizer for your holiday get together but don’t have the time for anything involved? This is your answer.
Cranberry Salsa is sweet and tart and pairs perfectly with salty tortilla chips. Better yet, it only takes 6 ingredients and 5 minutes to make. Jalapenos add flavor and color, but not a lot of heat so this is perfect for everyone – even those who don’t like spicy salsas.
This red-and-green salsa is perfect for the holiday season! It’s festive and easy – what more could you want?

Ingredients
- 1 (12 oz.) package of fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 medium jalapeno, seeded and roughly chopped
- 1 green onion, roughly chopped
- 2 Tablespoons fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
Cranberries are the star of the show here, so you’ll want to make this salsa when they’re in season. Make sure you get fresh cranberries – frozen will not work the same!
How to Make Cranberry Salsa
This salsa could not be easier! Start to finish it will only take 5 minutes thanks to the magic of the food processor.
First, add the cranberries to the food processor and pulse one or twice to start chopping.
Then, add the sugar, chopped jalapeno, chopped green onion, chopped cilantro, and cumin to the food processor.
Pulse a few more times until chopped to a salsa consistency.
Serve it along with tortilla chips.
Top Tips
Can I use dried or frozen cranberries in this recipe?
I wouldn’t recommend it. For this recipe, you really need fresh cranberries!
Can this be made ahead?
Yes, you can make this a day or two ahead. The sugar macerates the chopped cranberries so it will likely be runnier after a day or two, but the cranberries should still be crunchy.
