Even without the fried egg, this fried rice waffle makes a delicious, crunchy snack. I cut it up in pieces and dip it in peanut sauce or soy sauce and it’s so, so good.

A Note About Reheated Rice

It’s important to reheat leftover rice until it’s hot and steaming all the way through. Improperly reheated rice can develop a dangerous bacteria. Do not reheat fried rice more than once.

  • In a bowl, stir together the leftover fried rice, beaten egg and soy sauce until well combined.
  • Spray the heated waffle iron on both sides so the waffle doesn’t stick. You could also lightly brush the waffle iron with sesame oil.
  • Spread the rice mixture evenly on the bottom of the waffle, covering it completely, if possible. This will depend on the size of your waffle maker.
